The first day of school is always exciting, and even more so when it’s the first day of beauty school. As an Artistic Educator with The Salon by InStyle team, Brendnetta Ashley says her 17-year career is rooted in that first day of beauty school. It’s not the 3Rs that ignited Brendnetta’s passion as a student, but the P-A-Cs beauty school taught her:
Precision of haircutting.
Art of hairstyling.
Chemistry of haircoloring.
Brendnetta says beauty school helped her learn “the rules” so she can break them as an artist. “We all love the ideas of tutorials, but is that really enough?” she asks, noting education provides the “how and why” behind the art and science of beauty.
